Owner of Sound GP and respected audio engineer, Cristo Hattingh, in collaboration with Wild & Marr recently held an Avid VENUE S6L professional workshop on 16 July in Strydom Park, Randburg. The workshop was enthusiastically attended by a range of local rental companies, freelance sound engineers and students. The workshop is the start of a series which is set to make its way to Cape Town soon.
As well as providing insight into the Avid Venue S6L Workflows, Layouts, Plugin Racks, Snapshots and the Control section, Hattingh engaged attendees with practical examples drawn from his personal experience working on the latest season of The Voice: South Africa, a project which Sound GP has been working on for a number of seasons. Avid’s Pro Audio and Live Sound representative, Jean-Gabriel Grandouiller, was also in attendance who demonstrated a few tips, tricks and features included on the console’s latest software update.
